| Opal is a modern hard rock band currently based in Madison, Wisconsin. They combine heartfelt vocals, strong, multi-part harmonized guitars with a thick, grooving rhythm section, bringing a tidal wave of aggression and passionate sonic anthems. Founded in October of 2007 in Superior, Wisconsin, by singer/song-writer Theron Hayden, Opal recorded a live album as well as five studio tracks. Opal’s lead single, “Just To See Me Bleed,” reached #5 on the internet radio show, Forbidden Radio, in California. | Revived in 2012, the band’s current line-up is completed with David Corvus on drums, Alex Hanson and Edwin Bacalso on guitar, and Nathan Kast on bass. Opal recorded during the summer of 2013 at Madison Media Institute’s studios, with Hayden handling all guitar duties and delivering a passionate vocal performance while Corvus and Kast held down a tight and steady groove. The MMI sessions produced three powerful songs: the aggressive “KarmaChrist,” the dancey hard rock anthem “Sick Drama Carousel,” and the rock ballad “Hole In My Heart”-- all three of which can be heard on internet radio station MyMetalRadio.com. |
| Fronted by Theron Hayden on guitar and lead vocals, with 15 years of musical experience, his melodies imbibe the listener even further into the story he is telling. Bassist Nathan Kast has played for 17 years and is also a recording engineer graduate of MMI. His influences are rooted in both funky and hard rock elements and brings dimension to the songs-- weaving in between the guitar riffs and drum lines. After 25 years as a drummer, David Corvus brings a solid groove-orientated foundation to Opal’s performances and infuses a large percussive pallet to the songs.
